My Heng Long M1A2 Abrams.

Post by Aussie »

Here are a few images of my new M1.

As you can see , the T.C. asked his boss if he could wear his Grandads WW2 tank uniform into O.I.F. :D

I'm waiting on the Tamiya Bundswehr crew to replace him and also some Echelon decals to make the beast a bit more comeplete.

He also has an Aussie Styer he swapped in theater for his M4. :eh:

It's the new 6.0s version with the on/off switch under this rear hatch.

Hello
Looks good. But i think that Japanese tank crew will fit much better than Germans. Just take a look

T.C wearing almost proper tank helmet ( closer to the US tanker helmet shape than Germans )

You can also use US soldier and remodeling that guy a little - a saw this somewhere here on rc universe.

You'll need only remodeling his helmet for tanker version, or you can buy US tanker helmet - I saw it on armorama. Take a look here:

You have here one posture with two pose. And some US personal equipment extra ( including M16 rifle ) ;)

P.s. And I have for sale great 1/16 scale MRE boxes. P.M me if you want it.

Cheers mate , but my local supplier only had the German crew so that will suffice.
I already have MRE cardboard boxes on the rear deck and bustle rack?

Yes. I mean those boxes in the bustle rack. Just take a look at mine. I have made sure that they are 100% like the original ( including cardboard colout ) and have all the prints in the highest resolution.
And about T.C - amazon or eBay can help you ;)

I can definitely vouch for Mr Abramsky’s MRE boxes. They are miniature works of art.

Here are some new images with the Thunder Run decals applied.
The silvering is atrocious  , is there a simple way to hide or disguise it?

Notice the knob middle part is missing on the blow off panel part?
The mould must have had a Monday morning brain fart?

Check out these works of art.

Yeah, they should all be the same depending on the Abrams model. The blow off panels have gone through a bunch of changes and been three different versions. They had the flat panels which I believe were on the early M1s. Then they switched to the vented panels which HL tried to mimic. Now they have switched to the panels without the vents again, but they chose to remove the vents and just weld up the holes. They are much lower, but don't have the details on top.

So on my build I just ground the vents down to the latest version and covered them in anti-slip texture.
