Oh, and for the record, they were Assault Guns or Mobile Artillery...............not Tank destroyers :/
Yes, they destroyed tanks, but that was not the primary point of their existence.
A bit like the 88mm Flak Gun, it was not an anti tank gun, but could/did fill that role once its capability was recognised.
The 152's got the reputation for Animal Killer because they could and did destroy ANY German AFV that they could hit, but they were not employed as tank hunters, & the gun/optics combo was not designed to be a tank hunting system.
That aside, Mr Mekkers example of these low production artillery platforms is an inspiration for all of us & a well-done smiley face goes his way from me :D
