I finished painting this the other day and thought you guys may get a kick out of it!
My 1/16 Goliath!
Untitled by jon newsom, on Flickr
This one is made in a 3D printer, no moving parts (makes it a bitch to paint) but the real one was RC so it counts!
For size comparison I pulled a German off the line in France and made him pose next to it and a 1/16 KingTiger Im working on.
Stay Thirsty my Friends!

I wonder if it would be possible to jam the electronics from a 1/72 Waltersons tank into one of these

It's not the smallest, I have a Goliath aswell 1/16 and the trailer to go with.
I noticed yours is different design to mines, but they had a few different variants which is cool.
Nice work
I did a trailer setup for a 1/6 Dragon Goliath also hehe

Exactly! I said RC -remote controlled not radio controlledjhamm wrote:Hi Jon,

I was always amazed that the Luftwaffe had full scale RC planes at the end of the war and were going to use them as guided bombs in the Mistel program. 1946 would have been a wild year if the war had continued.

Hi Chaps,
All very good and nicely done.
Here is a pic of my smallest tank a 1/72 Challenger 1, this one is full R/c with turret, cannon and Mg working plus infa red battle.
You can have a full scale battle on a dining room table.
Regards.

The Mistel entered service in 1943 if the Wikipedia article is to be believed? In any case, the likelyhood of them having any discernable effect on the outcome of the war has 2 inescapable facts:Jnewboy wrote:I was always amazed that the Luftwaffe had full scale RC planes at the end of the war and were going to use them as guided bombs in the Mistel program. 1946 would have been a wild year if the war had continued.
1) The pilot aicraft has to get close to the target to release the Mistel and guide it in, which would be impossible in the west unless using one of the proposed jet combinations (and in which case you'd likely see the Meteor rushed up to the front line in the event that this became a serious issue)
2). The Allies had already figured out how to jam the radio guidance system of the Fritz X and HS293 by early 1944, and would likely have countered the Mistel's terminal guidance the same way if the need arose.
