Gold medal winning model 2019 model engineering competition
Hi.
Just a few photos of my 95% scratch built US Army M8 high speed tractor / munitions carrier 1950 to 1955 by American company Allis - Chalmers.
The model is R/C, based on an extensively modified Pershing hull.
Most of the construction has been made from A4 size flat Styrene sheet, with brass components scratch built for high stress areas like the dozer blade mounts and fittings plus wood for the stowage and brass steel and aluminium tube, and Styrene tube for the oil barrels etc.
The model has been airbrushed with different shaded and mixed acrylic paints to give a faded weathered look on the flat panals, and tracks subtly weathered and wooden cases weathered to give that used look.
All work by myself.
The model was awarded a Gold medal in the UK 2019 model engineering competition at the recent Model engineering and modelling exhibition.
I hope you like it.
I can post more if anyone is interested.
Regards.

A thoroughly deserved award, I'd say

Ok! That's it! I'm packing up all my tanks and stepping out of the hobby. So demotivational ... *grumbles* Great build.
