Re: 1:16 Taigen Panther
A brilliant example of what most folks minds-eye would picture a Panther to look like in the later war period............but in colour not black & white !
I like the subtle green & red-brown with chipping. Just a spot on balance.

Thanks Rob. That's the plan once I have some time off in the coming days.Rob'59 wrote:Nice job Carl.
Now just run it outdoors so the tracks get some dirt on them too.

Re: 1:16 Taigen Panther
Much appreciated mr Bix. I was afraid that I'd overdo it. I wanted an almost fresh look, slightly worn. My favourite tank, the panther I wanted it to be finished in subtle detail and be a good runner. One of the pieces I bought from Tom and its turned out as I wantedHERMAN BIX wrote:A brilliant example of what most folks minds-eye would picture a Panther to look like in the later war period............but in colour not black & white !

Yes, but as you know the holidays are harder than work with little kids running about..... And these holidays have spared me little free time SoonSon of a gun-ner wrote:Time off??? You've already had Christmas holidays. . . .

If I'd have known you wanted a fresh slightly worn look, I would have modelled for you Carl
But in all seriousness, I think you nailed it Carl

Re: 1:16 Taigen Panther
Had a slow day at work today so I took advantage of the down time and finished up the panther. Detailed the tools, added a homemade arial with rubber base and stacks on the flame trap exhausts. I guess it's not completely finished until I add the fire extinguisher
Now its onto the Hetzer, thanks for checking in

That looks fantastic! I really like your decal weathering. Fresh bright decals always look funny on an otherwise realisticly weathered model.

Re: 1:16 Taigen Panther
Thank you Jimster. I've had some really good luck with decal sets from Elite-Armor, very thin, strong and easy to apply. A little dusting over them and they seem to look the part.
