T32 was 54 ton, had a very long rifled 90mm gun.Eastern Front wrote:Interesting, two totally different tanks, one has eight road wheels per side the other seven, not to mention big turret differences, must be a big weight difference too!
T34 was a development of the T29 and was 63 ton, carrying a rifled 120mm gun.
The T29 that the T34 was developed from had the same hull and big turret as T34, but a 105mm gun.
Fun side note: T29, T32 and T34 all three had 279mm thick gun mantlets, beastly for late 1940s designs. There was also a T30, with the same hull and turret as T29 / T34, but a monstrous 155mm gun.
So:
T29: 8 road wheels, large bulbous turret, rifled 105mm gun
T30: Same hull and turret as T29, rifled 155mm gun
T32: Smaller and lighter hull with 7 road wheels, smaller and lighter turret, long rifled 90mm L/73
T34: Same hull and turret as T29, rifled 120mm gun
