Great work on the scenery Rad (and Lee!), some really nice details that bring the models to life.
Rad_Schuhart wrote:Also Im planning to sell some paint masks. Im doing my own first designs, but this looks promising!. Personally it kills me to see all the shermans with the same numbers repeated again and again and again... So I wanted to do something more personal. And like the sounds, I want my own numbers so I put this number. the 30, is because all the tanks started with that number, and 12, 14, and 17 is the year my sons were born. Great thing of this, is unlike the sounds, I can do them while at the office, but dont tell my boss, lol.
Those turned out nice and crisp, are they photoetched or are you doing something like laser-cut vinyl? Either way, I'm intrigued. I tried cutting some stencils out of 0.3 mm plastic sheet with a very sharp knife, but it's too fiddly to do by hand.

Hi. I m doing the masks with low tack vinyl. After experimenting a while I found that whatever I use as a mask, it has to be with some tack. Otherwise is very complicated to have good results, specially when doing small numbers and in zimmerited areas or things like that.

Also is important to use vinyl with low tack, because the stronger one can leave nasty residue in the model, or strip the model paint.

But I am not an expert, those are just my first tries and experiences.

Yeah, I've used similar low-tack vinyl stencils before and they come out really well. Could you do any design, or would it have to be just text?

Looks like I can do any design. I did the skull in the Mines signal too, and I also did some red crosses for Helmets even a german eagle.

The limit would be in the size, the smaller the design, the harder to make the masks will be. But no problem so far in german turret numbers, german crosses, american stars and so on.

SOAG, you are and always will be the special.

I had some things half built or half painted. I decided to finish them all before I start new things. So here is a Winter soldier, to go with my Östfront PIV.

In a week or so I might have more news with my watchtower...

Crappy camera by the way... I need something better than a cheap Smartphone.
