Winter Tiger from Brisbane, Australia
Hi fellow tankers.
Some of you may have seen my Tiger a few months ago when I joined the forum. I just thought I'd show what I've been up to with her. I have even tried some of the corrections on the list for fixing Heng Long Tigers. Some I'm not yet brave enough to attempt (like centering the turret). Still not completely accurate I know but she's a work in progress. There will be markings, but as yet I'm undecided and I went ahead and started weathering (not ideal I know).
Since she is an amalgam of tanks that may have been updated through out the war and served on many fronts, she may not fit any historical photos, more my imagination I guess.
Cheers

Re: Winter Tiger from Brisbane, Australia
Hi Busy, Nice one with the cricket by the way,
I like what you have done with the Tiger BUT there is one easy fix that is needed,
The CUPOLA is always fixed in the wrong position by the maker whether it be Heng Long/Torro/Taigen.
Here is the fix,
The CUPOLA should have the Hatch Hinge at 20 to 8 as if looking at a clock face with a vision slit facing directly forward (main Gun front and centre),
Place a knife blade into a vision slit,(it should not be too tight a fit) gently lift and lower, then place the blade into the opposite vision slit and do the same, you will soon hear a cracking noise DON'T PANIC!! it is just the glue failing (this is good) continue until the CUPOLA is free, turn the CUPOLA upside down and you will see a knob which fits into a slot on the turret where the CUPOLA was,
THE SLOT IS IN THE WRONG PLACE AND SHOULD BE IGNORED!!
You will need to FILE/GRIND the knob off the base of the CUPOLA, you can then fit the CUPOLA in the correct position. Job done, It takes a lot longer to describe what to do than it does to do it.

Thanks Shaun, yes, I have rotated the cupola (hopefully enough) it but I didn't amend the visions slots. I should do that one. I didn't want to mention the cricket.

With a working tank, it can be a challenge to keep everything stuck to the tank. I've tried to make this a robust build. It's a theory anyway.
