Finally some more progress, and finally at a point where I would consider this build "near enough finished to show off in show off"

My apologies for the bad quality of the pictures, there's more weathering on the actual vehicle than is shown in the images. Also not 100% happy with how the decals turned out, but that's just inexperience on my part.





Thanks to the generosity of forum member Tiger Tiger I was able to spruce my JP up a little bit:

A spare road wheel on one side of the superstructure, held up by welded-on crew-made brackets:



A small length of spare track on the other side, held up by a crew-welded bracket:



And as final bonus, my 'tank corner' with my armored struggle buggy IV F2, hunting kitty and disassembled royal kitty:

Damned good job. I like the add-ons. They really bring realism to the machine. I noticed and was taken with your numbers as well. Very crisp and clean. One question. Did your Jagdpanther come with the rear deck lifting hooks correctly oriented or did you have to pull them and set them right?

I pulled them and set them right. Simply took two small bits of plasticard, put them on either side of a lifting hook and used pliers to twist the hook off, ensuring an undamaged hook and a clean, flat surface to use for re-gluing them back on.

List of modifications:

- Replaced plastic towing cables with aftermarket copper ones
- Turned engine deck lifting hooks around
- Added mesh to the engine deck vents
- Added decals
- Added spare track bits
- Added spare road wheel
- Moved antenna to correct spot
- Added a link to each track for less (and more correct) tension
- Lubed and covered the gearboxes
- Paint, weathering

Still to do:

- Replace plastic gearboxes with metal ones. Not a priority job.
- Possibly add some mud / dirt to the tracks, road wheels and lower hull. Not sure yet.

Hes a beudy mate. Like the mesh the way it is depresed into the grills, the rust colour & texture on the exhausts, and the overall weathering.

Old fly screen mesh. Cut to size, superglue on, depress to taste. Very cheap, quick and easy.

I mixed some fine powder (the place I used to work at has a powder coating oven, I asked for some powder, it's about as fine as fine salt) to some simple brown paint, painted the exhausts with that, let it dry. Dry brushed some copper color over it, darkened the tips, added a black wash, then a sepia wash.

Very nice job on your jagdpanther there, the decals are great and i like the rusting on the exhausts, very realistic. My internet provider sorted out the problems from earlier today so got to look at the pics. once again great job. Great paint and weathering. Nice detailing too. Nice one !
