XRAD'S LIVE STEAM NORTHERN

Post by xrad »

4-8-4 Northern style loco, live steam. weighs about 160lbs. Originally oil fired..... Total rebuild in progress

I machined up new bronze bearings for the driving rods, bronze brazed and silver brazed the broken frames. Rebuilt the front and rear trucks...coming along slowly as I learn machining skills....

yeah, it's pretty big, but the smallest scale you can ride on....

There is a live steamer group in North Ohio with nice track for 3.5 to 7.5 gauge

That's quite an interesting piece. It looks like it's been around for some time.
A Commander has to make vital decision on incomplete information in a matter of seconds, and afterwards the experts can sit down at leisure, with all the facts before them, and argue about what he might, could or should have done.- Sir William Slim
