That is certainly very kind and I appreciate the thought but Rad Schuhart has put me in touch with a fellow is who is already tackling the barrel project. The original gunboats had a mix of 42 and 32 pounders, 30 pound Parrot rifles, smooth bores etc. however for simplicity I’m going with all 42 pounders and one Parrot rifle. They will have LEDs to simulate firing. Thanks for checking in!

  Oops I forgot to ask what scale you are building your model to! The designs are done to 1/16 scale but if your model scale is different then whoever prints them can adjust the scale accordingly in CURA or Blender, so if you are working to 1/72 scale then the printer would need to adjust to 45% of the design size when printing

If you pm me I'll send the files and you can pass them on to your contact.

Slooooow progress but I’m getting my mojo back (American slang for regaining motivation). I finally have my twin motor mounts fabricated and dual rudder linkages built. I have programmed my Beier board to operated my twin rudder servos in unison with my right gimbal. My new Hall left gimbal is adjustable to be self centering or not with a simple the turn of a screw. Very cool! The photo, such as it is , shows the motor mounts and rudder linkages. The video shows the rudder servo movements. Simple engineering for some but I worked my ass off to get this far. Better photos coming soon showing how the rudder linkages operate. Thanks for checking in.

Lord knows I hate boring you fine folks with my gunboat project but I have the rudders set up properly now and here’s a short video showing how they operate. Some may enjoy this more than others.

Ive walked the field of Gettysburg...............this is not boring me.
The broader story of the American Civil War is both tragic and intriguing, and has very tangible links of geography & archaeology that can be visited & pondered.................let alone the lasting cultural effects.
All too rare a model that represents this conflict in history like any other in Europe or elsewhere.
Carry on that man
