Several photos of KY's LCM3 production from their iHobbymall FB page https://www.facebook.com/Ihobbymall-1428634983849202/

Am lobbying KY to offer an LCM crew similar to Trumpeter's 1/35 kit. The addition of crew, plus a sound module & speaker which will be easy to add given the size of the cavernous space under the wheelhouse, would really make this boat alive. 8)

Don't know about the KY brand, but the ones in the pictures are the exact same one Torro is selling under their own brand. The decals is the same and the radio is identical. rctank.de is selling them under Torro. I have one coming and can post some pictures but it is one of the same.

My buddy just got his in the mail from forgebear. His have plastic props. This kits has brass. I wonder if the brass parts are a direct bolt in replacement for his torro version.

Appears to be come confusion here regarding the KY/Torro ARTR model & SanJiang's kit.

KY Model - Haifeng here in China - produces the ARTR version for Torro which Forgebear sells. They will soon be selling under their own brand in US, not sure EU. This model comes with plastic props & mine arrived in a Torro box which isn't surprising given factory overruns here. Check out their iHobbymall Facebook page for more details.

SanJiang is a small cottage supplier who makes the 1/16 kit I have. You can purchase in 3 levels from basic ABS cut parts with running gear to complete kit including prebuilt ramp. Photo etch kit optional. All come less electronics. And yes the brass props are jeweler quality, very nicely done. Basic edition runs 850.41RMB / $125.00 & if you spring for the full kit with options it will sit you back around $325.00 at current exchange if you buy direct from SJ. The $60 mentioned is for the photo etch kit, not basic hull kit.

Then that kit is far less than the one torro is selling.

Xiaoshen_Sailor,
I just sent you a PM regarding your offer to assist in the purchase of the above KY Kit. If that offer is still good, I would like to purchase one of them soon. I would like to buy the kit with the full options.
Thanks in advance,
Jack

Howdy Jack,

I still have the kit & will be willing to part with it. My son is currently visiting & headed back later this week so if you want it, let me know & he can carry back which will save you an arm & a leg in shipping. Just sent you a PM so let me know. Thanks.

Hello...

I ve just joined and have been reading the threads relating to 1/16 LCM 3’s....

If I’ve understood the situation, The link to speedline site would sugge#t they’re no longer in business?

I was bidding on a second hand one on eBay but it got to silly money in that it was a better choice to order a Torro one from Germany.... which I have. Should be here next week....

I’ve also ordered some US Navy figures from Speedways to populate topsides and I have the HL M4A3 for the cargo hold...

I was wondering if I might ask if anyone has fitted any extra functions to any of the ones available as kits or RTR...

A sound unit would be good, MG flashing on the .50 Cals. Smoke unit?

I’d appreciate any insights into lessons learned from those who have operated these craft on the he water...

Thanks in advance

Andy
