Found this on Thingiverse and decided to have a go, it's very well designed, even its not the biggest model on the planet.

It's bigger than it looks in the pics, and once printed, it has all of the motor mounts and internals printed in place.

99% of the hull done. Like an idiot I didn't look at the instructions. There are three versions in there.

1. Standard RC surface sub.
2. Static model with opening missile tubes, detailed conning tower etc.
3. Fully RC with diving planes, syringes for ballast tanks etc.

I am going for the simple version and just sail on the surface. Maybe do the planes so that I can go to conning tower depth.

The heating element on one printer gave up the ghost this morning (its a consumable on 3D printers), so I am down to one printer until the end of next week. I am thinking of using a Heng Long Motor in it, but have no idea what to power it with really, I'll print the motor mount and see what size it is. No idea which esc to use that doesn't cost a fortune either :| .

How big is it? It looks about 18" long. The all singing and dancing version sounds very intereting.

It's about 450mm, so not so small that it will get swamped in a pond. Should be very easy to carry about without damaging it, as long as the sections glue together ok, it will be very tough as it has a thick shell.

450mm? To ancient white haired pre-metrification people like me, that's 18" ;D
