I was at a bit of a loss where to put this, given it seems to straddle several modelling lines but I guess it'll spend most of its time on water so boats are as go a fit as any.
Firstly I can't take any credit for this, I bought it part built off live steam enthusiast that had run out of inspiration to finish it. I did some minor work to it and Woz 3D printed me a lift fan. Sadly this was where the project stalled.
That is till a chap called Dave in Dover offered to finish her for me.
Scale is roughly 1:12, it's a big beast over a meter long. I'm taking delivery next week all being well so I'll get some more footage then.
Some pictures of how she's progressed.
As I bought her:

Great model you have there Tom, the closest I got to having one was a DIY military one that I made using polystyrene sheets using four duct fans. Amazingly it would lift a 12lb Tiger and carry it down the house?

Oh Tom you spoilsport,
I was hoping above hope you would start the Main drive propeller,
I just bet it would move at a great pace.
Shaun.

Sounds like a vacuum cleaner motor in it! LOL! That's just too cool!
Hey any video of it going from beach to the water? That'd be awesome to watch it do like the real thing.

Tom, awesome, would love to see it go from land to water and back.

Hey folks, quick update showing the control surfaces:
Rudders control direction and the adjustable elevator allows attitude to be altered, for example going sea to shore up the ramp I would pitch the nose up using the elevation.
Shaun, glad to be of service. They're noisy things jack, the lift fan is a 150mm di three bladed propeller. I did have a fan 3D printed but this lead to complications so was removed. I'm hoping to get some good footage of her going sea to shore at my local boating lake!
