Re: Revell Hermann Marwede 1/72 RC Conversion
This will be the last set of pics as everything is now done, even the on/off switch works The heli deck is so small that I can't find one in 1/72 scale that will fit on it, apparently it is only used for dropping off crew etc, rather than actually landing on.
If/when this ever takes to water I'll try and post up a video. Just found out 10 minutes ago that the house move that I have been waiting for over the last two months is going to be on or before 18th of this month...nobody told me! I now have a mad panic to organise a hundred and one things and get packed.
At least I will be able to get back to tanks and get the T90 done soon.

Re: Revell Hermann Marwede 1/72 RC Conversion
Thanks for the compliments, I know it's not a tank, and it may yet turn out to be a very cheap submarine, but hey it kept me busy for a few weeks. I can't take any credit for how it appears as all I have done is follow the instructions and build it, my only input has been the cheap and cheerful RC installation, and changing a couple of parts to make it possible. The Revell part is evident, the Wibbly part is as yet totally untested!!

Re: Revell Hermann Marwede 1/72 RC Conversion
Well this thread was started in 2016, and it is almost 2020, you can't rush these things you know?
I had an opportunity to test it in a flooded quarry last weekend, plenty of shallow water in case it all went pear shaped. It worked really well, the RX18 is a super cheap way of powering a twin prop ship that doesn't have a rudder.
In order to smooth things out I have ordered some new prop shafts, and new universal coupling. Hopefully this will sort the vibration on one side. I was quite pleased with how it ran, it's a cheap way to get a decent sized ship running without spending a fortune.

Good Morning,
Great control there! For a ship with no rudder, it gets around as quickly and cleanly as an Outboard ( scale ) powered boat. Worth the wait!

Painless

A pleasant departure from the norm, and a value for money kit, by the look of it! I also like the A Himitsu (featuring Nori) track playing in the background of your 'sea'-trials, Rob Nice.
I have a sea loch 100 meters below my house, but it's far too wild mostly(tidal and Deep) to float anything on it I'd hate to lose. Still, my neighbour has his very own Lochan (mini loch- or big pond ). It would be ideal for a boat like yours. Hmm.. that's given me an idea...
I'm not sure the resident ducks will be that keen on a destroyer, or a sub, cutting thought their peaceful waters, though without a protest..
