In all my years of filming RC I have not seen an RC Gloster Javelin flying before so it was fantastic to see Joe's new turbine powered version of this jet at the North London Model Flying Club Scale Day event. You can see the effects of the wind turbulence on this jet through its low fast passes and on final approach. Joe is an experienced pilot so gave us an excellent demo despite the conditions. Almost a perfect flight until he touched down and lost one main wheel...but no harm done.

The Army Air Corp would fly FAC (Forward Air Control) missions dropping "Shmurley Flares" and smoke grenades on the Indonesian positions,
Shortly after the RAAF Mirages and the RAFs Gloster Javelins would unleash bombs and rockets on the identified target,
The Mirage111 and the Gloster Javelin were big aircraft but they would scream across the top of the Jungle canopy as though they were lightweights,
We were impressed, I imagine the Indonesians were terrified,
The shame was that not long after we saw the Javelins in Singapore at RAF Seletar waiting to be sold.
Nice to see one again even if it is not full size.
