Thanks to the great base kit I got from 'Ludwig Hobby'! This was probably one of your earliest Elefant kits. Your business has come a long way in the last few years. Congrats!

Some more parts designed and installed. Front brake drum and rear axle guard. Brake drum mounts to the wheel w/epoxy, and the rear axle guard mounts to hull with epoxy. All parts available at:

Rear convoy light 3D print. Ran some thick fishing line through for fiber LED 'lighting.' Half of the front track guards done. Wash of Tamiya basic putty thinned w/acetone for steel plate effect. Brass fittings made for rear castle....

Thx Soeren. Here is convoy light in blue. 5mm LED heat shrink tube to aluminum tube holding the fiber. Luckily, it fit into body without hitting the subwoofer. The LED is plenty bright. I polished the inside ends of the fishing line w/1500 grit, but it was old poor quality line and not very reflective internally. But, I think it's scale brightness (in other words, dim).

I added some pics of the other convoy lights I made for other tanks on this site.

Each project incorporates something new, like the Nantucket lightship = sound chip and rust technique, the gentleman's hydroplane = machining a miller v 16, 40" steam luanch = building a fine boiler and nice woodwork.

It is nice to go back and forth between tanks and trucks and boats, as long as I learn something new. The Elefant build = OPTCB and benedini sound card and some new mechanical 3D prints...etc.... A good part of the fun is the research. For example, see below pics of Elefant 102, post capture and at Aberdeen. The second image is actually and early Aberdeen repaint when zim still in place. But, was a mislabeled photo in the book. So I learned that this Elefant tank was repainted multiple times at Aberdeen, and not really ever looked like when it was when captured. It's the same tank in all pics due to front castle hits and all bolts face same way.

Track guard guides 3D printed and installed. Some prelim color. Looks too green in my poor lighting but supposed to be dunkelgelb.

Trying out some coding for throttle sounds for fun. Using arduino NANO and WT588D.... I am able to see the pwm throttle channel input via the NANO(just one channel for now). And this then can trigger code to fire the wt588d via SPI. The wt588D can hold hundreds of mono sound bites and plays them back very fast. Obviously, I can't use Rx PWM mode when hooked up to SBUS (it's one or the other), but I can use the PWM output for the motor ESC off the OPTCB.

The milisec counter uses about 9% of memory. I am trying to get a single channel interrupt code to work which uses about 1/2 of that. will see...
