IS-2 "BRUTE OF THE PROLETARIAT"

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Hello!
tankme, I had to check mine after you said that. You may have gotten a weird one. The barrel on mine is the same color as the rest of the tank but smooth as can be.

regards.

I might have. Mine is the same color, but I can definitely tell on mine there is a roughness to it.

So was mine. That awful 'hammertone' paint was on the barrel too.
Sanded off to get rid of it.

Now that I've found that Sylvanian Family is 1/16 I just can't get the image of a pair of rabbit ears protruding from a hatch.

Thats an image I cant un-see now !! :/
The Sylvanians are all sorts of scale, I just lucked out and got a set that is close enough to use ;)

I figured out a way to get the deck stowage to be removable.
Covered the vent panel with a double layer of clingfilm, and laid a diluted PVA glue soaked bit of grey rag over it.
After manipulating it into a suitable pose, let to set over night.
With some apprehension I set to remove the lot from the deck hoping it was not stuck!
It worked a treat.
Not as good as having it glued in perfect place but I get both options to play with,
The dining set & Cognac barrel were glued to the rag/tarp and left to set in place.
The bits of chair & table that touch the barrel are all carefully superglued to each other to help stay put!
I then cheated by using cord thread elastic tied onto jewellery clasps that look like repurposed hooks to stretch over the load to keep it in place.
Dusted with the airbrush to blend it in and I’m happy enough with the liberated booty !

Thanks Mr Kaczor, it adds a bit of difference & is secure on the deck for sure.
Tis a big bit of gear this thing I can say that.
Best thing is, it runs soooooo well.
