I do hope you are going to finish this one now. Given your abilities, it should hardly be a challenge. Although I am not sure, the whole drive and suspension look to be home-made, too, likely by someone with at least some parts of a machine shop. Am I wrong? Could the plastic road wheels and tracks stand up to the rest of the hefty drive?

The manufacturer is the same one who made my sWS chassis or my Sd.Kfz 251 UHU:
He is now over 75 years old and his craftsmanship is slowly fading.

J,
That is an amazing little build! You have to finish it, if for nothing else as a tribute to the master craftsman who started the creation of that little beauty! I'm sure you could create something marvelous!
Cheers,
Eric.

As Kazcor noted, it's a solenoid function. The barrel is pulled back by the solenoid against the spring and then is released. In this one, it's a leaf spring, but the thought is the same.Morebread wrote:the cannon recoil is great! can you provide more detail about that?

Ok, finally done and the bugs largely worked out. I posted a video of a field trial on Youtube. (Make sure you're watching it in HD, sometimes it comes up in low-rez.)
It's a pretty cool little tank!

Very cool project. Wish I had the patience to build something like this. Maybe someday when I grow up.
