Taigen late war Tiger 1 build

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Solid start Mr Topper
Dont forget to remove the unneeded aerial tube from the left/drivers side ;)
You will also need to add a turret ring armoured band that protects the gap between turret and hull, its a late version indicator.

Do you have a specific machine in mind or are you freestylin it  !!

Hi, A good idea simply because most people settle for what Heng Long/Taigen/Torro offer which is the Tiger 1 Early,
Might I take this opportunity of pointing out some of the external differences between the early and late, do remember that the modelling world has added a 3rd variant---The MID which was a combination of the two caused by forward workshops using what they had as a replacement instead of the actual spare part,
This certainly occurred but the term was never adopted by the German armed forces,
I shall use February 1944 as the starting point because this was when Steel wheels were first introduced also in the same month as Herman said the Turret guard was added and the main gun barrel travel lock was discontinued,The 20 tonne Jack replaced the smaller version and the Snow shovel across the front of the Tank is removed,
The pistol port is discontinued and the track tool box on the rear panel is removed as is the Feifal Air cleaner system,
"C" clamps are added to the rear panel and the single headlight is reinstalled, A new Turret with a new design Cupola is fitted, THere is a lot more but that should do for now. :haha: :haha:

The item was a long piece of metal in a straight line in front of the turret and trailing back on each side on the floor of the Tank body which acts as a stop to incoming AP that would otherwise jam the turret gear,(In the trade known as a Shot trap)(This was how Tiger 1 131 was captured)
Very simple to make yourself and I do not know if there is such a thing on the market probably because there will not be a any profit in it

Topper if you look at my thread of my Late production tiger I use a lot of the parts from east coast armory. Also don’t forget about the extra armor on the turret roof

unless I'm mistaken? Herman talks about this piece, this one was cut from a sheet of ABS,( reed)

I don't think it's all done? so a bit of manual work, also remove that ugly set of molded edge, and replace with metal  Good day.

Place the blade of a screwdriver/penknife through the viewing slit of the cupola and gently I SAID GENTLY !!! Lift the blade,
Remove the blade and place it in the opposite viewing slit and again GENTLY LIFT the blade,
You should hear the crack of the glue failing,
Lift the cupola off and note the locating hole for the placing of the replacement cupola.
