I really, really like how the edges look like worn metal, how did you do that?

Glad your enjoying the build herr doc . And Marco Peter , I have only gone round the edges with light green so far, it just the first stage of scratches. Next I will go back round the light green with a mix of brown and gun metal , then when dry rub the edges with a pencil. I will post more pics when I get time ..Updates soon, thanks for watching.

Next was going round the light green scratches with a brown gun metal mix and painting the machine guns black . I also went over the scratches now with a oil paint rust colour wash , but very light as I don't want much rust on this tank , lots of scratches as its just been hit with over 100 rounds but not old enough to be really rusted.

Then I had to make an engine cover cable and hook . the string and wire came in handy again .

Now I want to try mud effect , so I crushed most of the earth colour soft pastels in 3 different batches , to make 3 tones of mud and keeping the more rust colour pastels to make rust pigment , trying everything out first on my test VW bus , Guinea Pig Wagon. I mixed the pigments with half water and pva glue and some fine real garden dirt , mixed together and dab on. I don't want it to look overly muddy, like winter , more spring , summer time and its just gone through some muddy shower puddles , mostly drying out mud. It would be good to know if anybody has other methods and advise on how to do this better.

So starting to dab the darker wetter looking mud first then dryer looking on top .

Tracks back on , and machine guns dry brushed gun metal , and I shortened the torro tow cables , although I like the schumo tow cables better, these will do for now , maybe 1 day i will treat myself .
