Hello everybody . I have not posted on this forum for a few years now, mainly because, moving home ,working away and real life getting in the way really , but like most people just now I have had a lot of time in the house due to that bloody invisible virus thingy , so garden is tidy and I have managed to finish completely one of my projects . Like many here I imagine you buy a tank , my first was the torro tiger , i had big ideas ,(still do ) I bought loads of expensive goodies , lots of aber kits, new guns , new tools , new electronics , after trying the IBU and giving up I settled for the ELMOD FUSION , fantastic board . anyway then i seen a Torro KV1 on ebay for sale , it had a broken swing arm a little crack on body and some wires cut , no electrics , but came with a set of unused 5.1 premium series 3 gearboxs , for £100 it was a bargain and as I had the spare torro electronics from the tiger project I thought it would make a nice run around while doing the tiger , then I saw a nice 76mm sherman on Forgebears site , had to have it , a tamiya kubelwagen , then came the 3 WSL trucks , then a torro schwimmwagen ,and as well as a diecast collecting habit , it's hard to ever finish a project. Until now , so thanks mainly to a killer virus I have been enjoying time at home and have actually finished a project, and it's not the original tiger , I thought I would buy another Elmod for the KV1 , and use that tank as my practice build , as I have not a lot of modelling experience ,it wouldn't matter so much if went wrong, so first time with airbrush, first time weathering and I made a whole new sound set after spending days searching for kv 1 videos to record sounds and add in the 24 user sounds this board can take. I have also installed the full ELMOD Battle system and fitted the emitter 9mm down a brass tube, so it's ready for battle according to the tamiya rules. But with this build I wasn't buying any expensive parts, just the electronics , all detailing on this was scratch built using cheap bits of nylon rod for bolt hooks on steel plates ,new headlight from old one with bits of cut plastic and a home made antenna from the end cut off a plastic paintbrush and a bit of wire, and a little wire mesh for the air intakes, and i got a set of 4 metal hatches from forgebear , that I thought needed a bit of work to look better, but I am by no means a scratch builder like some of the amazing model builders on here using 3d printers etc that I can only admire their skill and work. I do like the fact that modellers of all levels can post on here, as it can be quite intimidating with the level of some guys here, so here goes I have lots of photos on my way through this build and I know it's another KV1, but I like it and as they say that's what counts . I did notice Soerens KV build not that long ago , and like him I was using the WILDER KV-1 Finishing technics series of videos for the weathering . I had long started the build before i noticed his , I'm not copying him honest. The main difference between Soerens build, which by the way I think is a brilliant build and finish, and my own, apart from this little problem :problem: you have put one of your tracks back on the wrong way . :haha: . Ok so difference is mine is a cheap torro not expensive tamiya , and I didn't want to spend a fortune on expensive weathering products as it was my first time, so I bought a box of slightly used tubes of winsor and newton winton oil paints from ebay , and a box of pastel chalks , and one proper bottle of brown for dark green filter from ammo, but made my pin washes , dot washes , from oil paints ,all under £30 for my weathering products. So a budget Build if you like. So without further ado I will try and get photos and videos on here.

Air intakes done , just a bit of light buff paint on air intakes to stand out under the mesh.

these gearboxes are very low profile but also there is 1mm between the wires on both motors. so I am putting a plastic wall between them ,just in case . now i might as well build a box cover over the gears , keeps things tidy , especially oil getting thrown off the gears.

OK I cut out all the hatches next , done this with a compass cutter, took a while and 2 blades, but came out ok.
