Oooohhhhh nnnnooooooo :problem:
Awful AUD Peso’s again :/

As for buildings, perhaps the odd bunker, but I’ve seen pictures of trains with them fitted.
Most of the quad flaks seem to be on/emplacements or on bunkers as well as the standard cross type ground mounts.

I think you meant to say Flak :)

Yes, we do have a solid base mount version for fixed position aswell as a trailer mounted frame or Wirblewind setup

That's it, give a potential customer flak :P :haha:

But does it come without the shielding/armour surround?

Hello Mick
Nothing better than giving some a little bit of Flak haha!
If you look carefully in the picture there are some small tubes sticking up that would have where the front shields could have been mounted.
For whatever reason they don't have them in the picture, but from what i could make it they would have been removeable, although must have weighed quite a bit.
In the later parts of the war i can see that they may have removed as considered not soo important and maybe they didn't give much protection anyway??? Hard to know.
But the base i have designed does allow shields to be slid in or removed depending on what is required.
I like the look with shields, but many pictures i have seen have none.
It is a beastly weapon and at least in the Wirblewind turret they must have employed Hitler Youth for reloaders of the magazines as the space in there would have been very tight and bloody noisy. I bet they felt rather rattled after pressing the fire button. Must have been hell. At least with the open mounted guns the sound would have dispersed

I read that they originally wanted to put a roof on it, but decided against it because of the amount of smoke the guns generated. I've looked at a lot of pictures of various flak guns on those flack towers, and every one looks to have no shielding.

Therefore, I may be interested in two without shielding, but I'm still thinking whether I want this type of AA gun

Any plans for an 88 AA gun?

Sorry Mr Gunner, I thought you meant the Wirblewind Turret on buildings and emplacements.
I’ve only seen the odd pic (off a PzIV )of fully armoured quad flak weapons on bunkers. It seems to be a train thing that they are the WWnd type. Most other pics are of the weapons in various emplaced positions or the standard ground mount but without the iconic WWnd turret armour.
