WCP RC Models Kubelwagen Project

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Actually I believe this model was intended to be detailed by the buyer and it’s very design provides for super easy detailing. It’s sturdy and withstands constant handling without any damage. It’s incredibly fun.
Tonight I added LEDs to the headlight buckets and routed all the wiring including the Notek. I also shortened a bunch of wiring by moving the tiny receiver closer to the Benedini. I tucked it in behind the driver’s seat on the back floor board. Here’s a photo of it in its present condition.

I’m going to attempt to fabricate a folded down canvas top and make or buy some rear view mirrors. I also need to add the triangular shaped gussets that go between the rear of the front fenders and the sides of the body. I never noticed that until I really started to google Kubelwagen images.
Such an amazing and fun model to research.

Got a bit of weathering started and Rad Schuhart has taken me by the hand and taught me how to split a channel into 16 segments to enable me to unleash the power of the Benedini Mini V2. Here’s a quick pic and a video will follow as soon as I get things wrapped up nice and tight.

I absolutely love this little Kubelwagen! Small but packed with features and solid as a rock. As soon as I complete all the electronic programming and detailing I’ll post another video. Then it’s on to the Opel Blitz project.

Jim,

She's starting to look very nice. The "dirt" on her gives her that little extra that'll allow her to look perfect next to "M.L". No idea how Rad does what he does, but God bless him!

Cheers,
Eric.

Hi not sure if you could help but I’m looking to buy a 1/16 RC Kubelwagen and wondered if you knew where the best place to get one from would be?

Yes. That’s the best way they are an awesome model team. I have several of their custom 3D printed models. Top shelf stuff.
