Flakpanzer turrets

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Will try to make them , first up the 37mm Coelian. Have a few sheets of styrene handy, just a matter of converting 1/35 to 1/16.

Some brass and styrene tubes cut, then the pivots. Want something that will be nice and smooth, brass rod and nylon bearing surfaces.

Thanks for looking square4. Its not so bad with the base and sides , the top will be a struggle. Started on the elevation and the gun , it needs shaped at each end.

The servo is struggling , last time i buy cheap ones . Have a click starting to raise gun and it needs a few more degrees to get vertical. Once the two servos and the long tubes are in will see about trying to balance it.

Certainly got your nose to the grindstone on this build, swift progress being made. Sounds like its skipping first tooth when elevation starts,
otherwise looking good.

Fixed the click , square4 was correct moved the servo slightly and it worked. Turret roof glued on , made it in 6 parts . Hatches next , thinking about how to do the hinges.

Fitted servo test video , need to find out how to speed up the firing cycle. Will glue the cones on, if i solder and need to fix something it will be a pain.

Hello,
to much and slow recoil, the 55mm flak 41 had a rate of 130 rounds / minute

That is proper wicked.
But I wonder if a rotating servo with cam eccentric be able to run a high rate of fire.
I am loving the scratchbuilt skills, you have done this amazingly quickly
Top notch work

These are what rctank35 use in some of their kits, you could achieve a good fire rate

Thanks everyone The recoil min time on the Fusion pro board is 3 sec , am looking for something a lot faster as jhamm said. Will01 the eccentric cam is a good idea , have some continuous rotation servos to try. Midlife how would i do a fast on off for the solienoid.
