3D printed 1/10 IS-1

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

3D printed 1/10 IS-1

Post by cupra313 »

I finally finished my IS. The designer of this tank is Lubosh and you can find it on cults3d. Although a good design, i changed a lot of things to suit my likings more:

Added bushings to suspension arms axles
Added 2 visatons in an enclosure
Added a huge custom made smoker
Changed the elevation mechanism
Will change the 3d printed gearboxes to chain and sprocket
Switched to d25t
And a lot more that i dont remember. If you have an instagram account, there are a lot more there @thekreator87.

I'm green with envy! If it's big and Russian you can't go wrong in my book and that's a really nicely finished model.

Thank you very much! I wanted to do a little more weathering, but the surface of the model made it extremely difficult. I deliberately applied primer with a brush and left it unsanded to kinda simulate the rough surface and the "no time for paint finishing" of the time.

Very nice, I did a JS3 a couple of years ago and know what you mean about the surface. I used surface filler and sanding to get the best I could, and like you, a bit of weathering to cover the rest.
