Puma Sd.Kfz. 234/2 Metal Origin 1:16 WIP

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Met5,

An amazingly complicated model...just like the real beast!  Got to love the Elmod board! The Puma sure has plenty of grip, it climbed that incline with no hesitation what so ever! One of my favorite armored vehicles of all time...who doesn't love a good Puma?!

Nice "work space" too, complete with a helicopter! Wish I had that much room!

Can't wait to see the Puma finished and an outdoor video too!

Cheers,
Eric.

It's been 16 days since the last posted. The turret was operational, but it didn't entirely satisfy me. The bat-mounted elevation servo suffered when he had to bring the barrel back to the full down position .... The barrel only returned (with a jolt) to zero lift after the shot was fired....

Maybe no one had noticed, but I did ....

Changed the servo, eliminated the interference on the digital controller caused by the unfiltered motor of the rotation unit, argued with a hull cover that twisted and blocked the turret, almost killed a battery pack for having moved an element and installed it upside down ... .

Finally a configuration that satisfies heart & soul:

Meanwhile, the sheet metal is prepared for painting and the front bumper are installed:

It seems that we have really climbed the hill, from here on it's all downhill ....... Although we have learned that the squirrel can never be trusted:

Wow,

When you said infinite details you really meant it! I really like the looks of that Puma! She's going to be a stunner!
Great work!

Eric.

What an incredibly complicated build!  I have stored away a Puma and a Famo. I wonder if I will ever have the courage to start either of them. I will start with a simpler custom build first and work my way up through experience. It was only a decade or so ago that I was afraid even to open the hull of a HengLong tank. And look at all the neat parts I accumulated from wrecks along the way! :haha:
