Alwyn Turner Nashorn.

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

So it's been a long time since I did something on the nashorn, there were a couple small details I needed which I was struggling to scratch. Luckily I came across a seller on eBay printing in 1/18 who was kind enough to split out the parts I needed and upscaled to 1/16.

Price was very reasonable and print quality is great. I've added the missing mg 34s, tow rope and holder, cleaning rods and some fighting comparement detail. I am kicking myself as I forgot the periscopes but I can do them myself easy enough.

I need to do some tweaks to the suspension but I'm pretty happy with how she's running now. Just a couple more details, crew and onto paint.

Marvelous! Three cheers    for the recoil and fine slow speed. I am eager to see the painting progress and the crew. But watch out for "Buzz" there: he's Lightyears ahead technologically.

Hey folks,

Cracked out the red oxide to see how things look, I'm very please with how it ties everything together!

There are a couple of bits I need to touch up but I'll have to buy some more spray cans as I've gone through my stash recently ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Wow! That Nashorn looks great in red oxide primer! :{ ;) I am always tempted to stop at the primer stage, fearing that I'll just mess it up. 8O Then I grit my teeth, let the primer dry for days, and start in with the airbrush again.
What did you use for red oxide primer?
