Torro/Taigen kit Tiger

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

The link does not work, no sign of a tow hitch in the Tiger accessories. Going to keep the rough copy i made . Some pictures to compare.

Tanks for the memory and his mid tiger build with photos is all you need to fix the parts that are wrong. Its much more fun trying to make a part , or at least trying first before buying .

I completely agree with you but there is no way I could ever cobble together a Tiger 1 Tow Hitch that came anywhere close to the prototype.
It does not help that the Heng Long and Taigen stump looks nothing like the real thing either.

Rear hull small detail, clamps and c hook.
C hook drilled for fine bolts.

tool clamps, a pain to make so soldered a stub for fixing. Don't want them to fall off.

The Tiger 1 early had a one piece starting handle mounted on the right hand side of the base of the rear panel with the handle nearest the tow hitch,
The Tiger 1 late had a two piece starting handle mounted beside the radio aerial adjacent to the Turret.

Found a pic of the short starter handle section and gives a good ref for making one.
Is the pic wrong way round or is it a command tank with 2 aerials ?

Because the view shows five spare tracks on the turret and a very clear view of the Tiger 1(Late) Cupola and no sign of an aerial stowage tube it certainly supports your opinion that the picture is of a Command Tank,
I have never seen a Tiger 1 (Late) with a cupola on the right hand side of the turret and the pattern for the carriage of spare tracks was 5 on the left and 2 on the right side of the turret,(To allow space for the turret escape hatch)So if this is a Command Tank then locating the two piece Jack handles beside the aerial mount makes sense.
I do not believe that the picture has been reversed.
As I have said many times before Plan views of German armour is hard to find,
If you could expand that picture to include a broader view to include the second aerial on the top of the turret you would have a good reference source.
But it is still a good find

The text for the picture tells us exactly that. This is a command Tiger and the l shaped lever was most likely moved to the left on that tank while it would be on the right side on regular Tigers.
