1951s King Tiger

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

I tried to keep working on this, but this covid situation screwed the post situation pretty badly. I have ordered some parts in may that have not arrived yet! So it left the build in a "frozen" status.

I usuañly build the tank and then place the figures, but considering I was unable to keep building it I dediced to paint the figures now. Those three guys will be the crew of my dystopian bergetiger 2

My suggestion for making it more Weird War 2ish: give it bugger off big gun and a wunder-weird muzzle break on it.

Love seeing WeirdWar/DieselPunk stuff

These would be my personal choices:

Excellent job on the figures! A tank would seem almost secondary compared to them.

Yes, a real talent! Any one of them would put the best of mine to shame.

Hi guys, thanks for the nice words. Yep I love the figures and I think they are one of the things that brings more life to the model, hence I always try to fit as many as possible. In fact that commander was supposed to ride in my already crowded panzer IV, but due to the turret schutzen there is no way to fit it so I relocated him here.

About the Mk modelbau stuff, yep they do have very cool "what if" barrels but even when tempted I am afraid I wont fit any of them on it. The plan is still to remove the entire turret of the tank and place the classic bergepanzer wooden basked on it, full of tools, spare parts and scrap. Then the turret will be somewhere else in the battlefield, maybe in top of a concrete bunker or something like that. But worry not, I love weirdwar / diesel punk more than anything else! I am in the early stages of developing some secret weapons, stay tunned! lol

Well, Rad, the story of how this beast came into your hands never fails to astound me. Talk about a 'barn find.' I, for one, am glad to see you're keeping her, at least for now, in fighting tank form with turret in place than as a bergepanzer. Nice choice of cannon.

Hi my friend. Yep, I will keep it as it is. Absolutely love the look of it and I am too afraid of ruining it. Plan is to keep it in the main square of my diorama next to my knocked down tiger. I don't dare to touch it anymore, lol.

About the cannon, well, it is the standard plastic cannon that comes with any full option kit as a spare part, but due to the look I wanted to achieve I decided to not to fit any muzzle brake, so I put some putty and sanded until it was smooth. I think it was a great idea, I like how it looks.

And ah! I also wanted to ask you! I got many emails and sometimes I lose the track of what I talk with who. It was you the gentleman who wanted to have those super tiny (sadly too tiny for being able to make them) Glycol stencils? If yes please tell me, because I kept the idea and plasmed those G on my tank because of that. I will credit your idea on my website!

EDIT: Yeah it was you! I just read the original post and I mentioned there. My website has been edited and you have been credited :)
