KV-1

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

To be honest even the Matt paints can sometimes dry satin if we don’t quite get the mix right for the airbrush. Which is good for a wet mud look. Not so much for dust or sand

The special thing here is that I am using oik paint togehter with a specil curing aid. Mine is a satin agent, but they sell it matt, satin and gloss. I might get the matt one day, as satin dust would look rather silly. Oils are definitely an interesting option for those wanting to do color modulation without an airbrush.

It's tedious, but I am really getting to like the behaviour of oil paints. Especially the gradients in the colors on the fender mounted boxes turned out nicely. The front got some more interesting streaky variations and shading.ImageImageImageImage

It’s certainly coming along. Will look good in a summer based setting I think

Watching this , nice work getting the look correct on all the flat panels must be a nightmare to do.

Hey guys, thank you so much for your kind comments. I can now report having finished the base coat. Did some work to the fenders and an extra time on the wheels and quickly put it together for finishing the second chapter.
