First tank Taigen 76mm Sherman...mods underway.
First tank Taigen 76mm Sherman...mods underway.
Well after a long wait, she’s finally here. Have had few week to familiarize myself with operations, controls, etc. First three pics just after receiving.
Basic insides on pic 4. Have already upgraded to GI Smokers Baroness 2...really works great using 50/50 mix of mineral oil and WD40...puts out an impressive amount of smoke. Also got Sherman sound card from UK as none available stateside and a panzer sound card just doesn’t do a Sherman justice. Will ultimately upgrade to to something better in near future.
Mods and build highlights coming up next.- c.rainford73

Very nice tank. Can you post a video of its functions and the new taigen Sherman sound card?
Tanks alot....

Nice tank! I agree about wanting see and hear a video of it in action.

Next photo shows hand made tow cable, sands bags and wood board support. Found build thread here on forums for sandbags. Tow cable is from picture hanging kit...flexible braided steel wire with uninsulated butt splice connector attached to bent screw eye, soldered, contoured and painted.
....now to continue my research on a tank like mine, from some WWII battalion, division, etc., to model mine after. Until next update, Cheers everyone!
Next series of photos shows handmade stowage items...bedroll, tarp; coil of cable; spool of chain, rope on turret, and recently crafted box...(trying out some ammo inside, but a bit big for scale...think I miscalculated box dimensions).
Next photo shows diy tow cable bracket and smoke flare tube.
And finally, after working with small interior real estate, the after inside pic with hand made ported speaker enclosure using Visaton FRS7-S. That’s the biggest enclosure I could make even after removing battery box and verifying turret rotation clearance.
I guess that’s it for now. Plans to get other resin stowage and work with those items soon. Thanks for all who post help and info on this forum. I have to keep telling myself this new venture into RC tanks is extremely satisfying and a process that requires patience to acheive the best result. ....now to continue my research on a tank like mine, from some WWII battalion, division, etc., to model mine after. Until next update, Cheers everyone!

Oh, and please offer up anything you folks are gratuitously willing to do so...good or bad. I’ve really been experimenting with trial and error and experimentation. I strongly suspect we here have ALL been through this learning curve. Nice to know there is a world of support available.
Will post a vid up soon.

You have really maximized the small confines of the Sherman lower hull bravo

Okay, below is link to first vid and posted on YouTube. Sherman sound card thank goodness. I’m a bit space challenged at the moment and raining outside. Traction a bit slick on wood floor and still learning touchiness of T5 transmitter. Thanks and enjoy.

Hi,
sounds and look good!
Thanks for the video.
If you want to reduce some speed and also have more driving sensitivity, you can change the gearbox.
I change in the Taigen metall chassi the standart gear and take in the walterson 3 speed gear. That works very well and you have more power and sensitivity.
I think the HL geras dont fit in, just in the HL plastik M4 chassi.

When you're using baby oil and WD-40, what does that do to the smell? Can you smell the WD-40 very strongly?
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!
