Taigen Tiger 1 late production make over

Hey guys thought I would start this thread on my progress so far on my project. I got this Tiger wanting to have a really nice accurate model of the this tank. I just pitched the ELmod fusion board for it and a few weeks ago I got some added detail parts for it as well. I installed the barrel recoil but I don’t want the air soft unit. All I want is the flashing light and the coax machine gun. So I got to figure that part out later down the road. I did add the turret ring today but I need to clean it up a little more. My turret binds when I traverse it. Any way here is the first pic of many to come. ImageImage

Nice start. I've got a thread ongoing with a mid tiger detailed build. For late dont forget you've got to add the extra turret armour on the roof.

Thanks boss. I've not seen one you can just buy. It looks like it has to be fabricated.

Did you add all of the Zimmerit? I know that when you buy the late version Airsoft Turret, with the Barrel Recoil Feature, it has Zimmerit attached; but did you cover the hull as well? If so, well done.
If you only wanted a flashing light, then you've bought the wrong turret, I think. The IR version will give you an intense flashing light in the muzzle, plus barrel recoil. Airsoft (with no BBs loaded); zilch but the recoil and the bang.

Airsoft will still offer a red LED warning light, but that's hardly a desirable feature, as real Tiger didn't have one. :problem: It's there to warn that a BB's about to be dischaged. I guess, if you have concerns
about Airsoft because of kids and pets the warning light has a nominal practical value.
Personally, I like the Airsoft unit with barrel recoil- as it's more like the real thing, arguably, than the IR version. IR is for those who enjoy Tamiya-style battling in clubs. :|
For the present, it looks like a tank with amazing potential! V  Very nice

Planning, and knowing what you want with a model, can save dollars down the line. Then again, playing it by ear- and improvising- can be fun too... :D

I am certain that I have seen at least one dealer selling upgraded armour for the roof of a Tiger 1 late but I have no idea who or where it was.

Some ideas here. There's an extra armour roof layer' at the bottom of the list, and might be of use. It's only 7 Euros (plus postage, of course)There are lots of other tasty extras as well.
