Panther F
Re: Panther F
Thanks jimster A bit of pot luck and not being heavy handed with the airbrush.
Hi Soeren No set order just mixed batches and went for it, your in luck as i still have the paint pots on the desk. Here is the paint used XF 10, XF 82, XF 8 ,XF 6, X10, X 6 , XF 88, LP 40 and LP 61 Made the transition between the discoloured tubes and the yellow where the small exhaust tubes turn into the main Flammenvernichter tubes. As heat rises the lower section should be cooler, still have matt varnish and perhaps some light wash to do.

Re: Panther F
Some matt varnish on to reduce the gloss and see how it looks in the daylight..
Re: Panther F
Painted the tracks , no heavy rust coated tank tracks for me. Here is one to ponder over if tracks go rusty how do they free up all the rusted in track pins if the tank has been lying up for a few weeks . The joint at the front is not sitting right, fitted a sliver of styrene as the hull top is slightly warped Removed the the bright edge on the shovel.
Re: Panther F
It is fantastic looking already Ronnie !
Re: Panther F
Love the track’s weathering. What color did you use if I may ask? That’s one of the most difficult painting chores to get right in my opinion and you’re right about all the rusty looking tracks on tank models.
Re: Panther F
Thanks Soeren Hi Jimster Tracks were painted with a mix of metallic brass Humbrol 54, black/green Revell40 and Revell green 97 enamel paints. The next layer was Tamiya LP-61 metallic grey lacquer as the first layer was too bright , Final coat was Revell dark earth 87 enamel. Have lots of old enamel tin pots i need to use up .
Re: Panther F
Been holding this off , getting rid of the massive gap between turret and hull.
Re: Panther F
Back on this ,lots of problems to fix .Lowered the turret that went well but the deck is wrong . Deck main armoured plate looks like its one piece not 2. Front panel is raised buy 1.5mm thats why the toy has a raised turret to clear the height difference . The sprockets are low and not forward enough, that might be due to the Waltersons brass gearbox. Not bothered about the hassle of fixing issues as long as it look correct when done, suppose thats why forums like this exist . Should buy a good 1/35 panther F kit to check .
Re: Panther F
Nice eye for detail. I can recommend the Dragon Panther F kit, if you wanna buy one.
Re: Panther F
Decided to go up to the model shop for styrene and order a panther f kit. Time to turn a G into an F.
