Good morning,
That's a good looking Bucket! As Herman noted, an essential part of any German vehicle build! ;0)
regards,
Painless

Re: TORRO Sturmtiger build
I finally got to pick the sturmtiger up from the office and started painting it I am no expert at it and I am not trying to be accurate with the markings so it's just a generic colour scheme
I have started the weathering on the rear section but I need more time with the weathering pencils the kids got me for Christmas to get the rusty exhaust covers looking better

Awesome bucket and weathering on it. Very natural looking patina.

Re: TORRO Sturmtiger build
I got as far as I think I need to be with the weathering
I just have a few small things to paint and details to touch on and some mud to spread over it and it's time to fit the wheels and tracks back on.

Re: TORRO Sturmtiger build
Its almost done I have weathered it as much as I think it needs and I have had it running so here are a few pictures of it
I have still got to make and fit the traverse mechanism but i can still drive it around.

Re: TORRO Sturmtiger build
I was going to 3d print the parts to make the traverse mechanism but due to current circumstances and being socially distanced from it I decided to make it out of strips of sheet brass soldered together.
A nd it works like a charm.
It looks even better from the other side
This allowed me to tidy the wiring for the upper hull.
I did a couple of details I added a peice of chain to the rear.
I made an antenna to fit in the stowed position but it can be placed on the antenna mount allso.
While i was doing some fine tuning of the barrel movement settings it was a pain taking the SD card in and out so I added a small piece of tape on it to aid the removal of the card

Speed and sound look convicing to me. Nice result.

Re: TORRO Sturmtiger build
I have been doing some more little bits of detail on the sturmtiger.
I started by putting some chain between the rear tow shackles and gave it a dragged through mud look
Next I found a peice of model spur that must be over 20 years old at the bottom of my model tool box I heated it over a candle and stretched it to form an antenna and glued it to a peice of small brass tube painted it black and pushed it on the pin for the stowed position I can put it on the base if I need to.
And the last thing was to make a cammo net
I started with a painters tack rag and carefully un furled it to reveal the net
Because the rag is tacky the easy way to colour it was to use pastels ground up and mixing the colours to get the right shade it was a case of brushing the power on to the rag and just scrunching it up and rolling it in the power on the bench repeating with slightly different shades of powder until the rag has been covered this also removes a lot of the sticky from the rag
I cut the rag in half as when it was rolled up it was quite big but it looks good as a net over the tank or rolled up with I think a realistic shape to it
But I decided to hang a roll of it off the hooks on the Hull side
I also added a couple of coiled ropes for good measure
