Panther waiting for new engine
Panther waiting for new engine
1/16 Trumpeter Maybach HL 230 P30 is a nice build , pity most of it will be hidden when fitted.

There’s no way I would hide that beautiful model inside a tank. Maybe an engine overhaul diorama by a makeshift field repair unit. Or maybe a new engine being uncrated.
Re: Panther waiting for new engine
It is always a shame to see those kits with interior all sealed up. Leave it outside, this impressive engine.

Re: Panther waiting for new engine
That looks an excellent model in itself, you need an old 210 in the tank, and have this displayed as ready for an upgrade.
Don't know if these will be any use to you Mr ronnie42.

Great detail, as you say, shame to hide it. I have the same issue with my Trumpeter SU-100 which now sits on a T34 hull but its even worse as the motors and gearboxes are at the rear so no room for the kit goodies.

Going to order up very small magnets to tie in the pipe work. If pipes and hoses are glued can't get engine out. Very tight fit , cut away part of the bulkhead locating ring on engine side. The rest of the build will be on Other Builds
Re: Panther waiting for new engine
General J Could you not build the Trumpeter lower hull and take a picture of engine. Resize and print then stick it under engine hatch. I will do that on my HL panther.

That's about all that would fit! Strangely, the front cabin, even with all the main gun bits and pieces, is quite roomy. May build the lower hull so so you can see all the great interior detail, just as a cameo. They are great kits.

The engine just side his tank= whoaaaaaa!!!! Great picture, and great job on this Maybach. The details are awesome and job paint is excellent.
Sorry for my spelling mistakes, I try to do better every day...
