French AMX-13: A Cold War Hunter – The Model Kit
Since I was young the AMX-13 fascinated me with his oscillating turret, so this was one of my goals to design a 1/16 RC model kit.
Despite it was a lightweight tank with a thin armor, he was built in 7700 pcs. and was transferred to 25 countries and is still in action.
Beginning of creating the model needs studying a lot of books, pictures and technical drawings.
Some steps of the design process:
To be continued…
Cheers,
Freddy

Ok, let´s start… but this (picture) report will be only roughly presented, not too much details.
Starting with the lower hull…
...using modified Panzer 3 bogies:
Easy build return rollers…
…and front bumpers.
Assembling of the wheels…
…and the idler:
Parts of the boxes, placed on top of the track covers:
At the backside of the lower hull:
…and some accessories at the front.

Wow, just wow.
How are you cutting and shaping your Styrene sheet, please say you CNC or laser cut and it’s not all freehand?!

Chris told me, that he'll post this model in "your" forum, because I've no account there. I'll think the AMX-13 is for interest also at French forums too .yan33 wrote:i love it so much
Freehand isn't (almost) possible to do all the cutouts, so all parts are made by CNC milling machine.jimbo_wa wrote:Wow, just wow.
