Centurion mk3

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Cheers Alwyn! It's slow going but hugely satisfying

My tie downs look great on there Tom! Good job!

your other brass work reminds me why I save all my left over Aber stuff to reconfigure! LOL!

Those tie downs saved no end of swearing and crossness. For any one interested I can't give them enough praise. They also got across the pond faster than some of my domestic post so hats off their too!

Unfortunately I've used most of my Aber and voyager stuff that could be kit bashed. However the frets are still and excellent source of brass sheet for work like this

Some more time spent tonight, working on the canvases rain cover, not perfect but I'm happy with how it's worked out. Especially the round headed bolts on the cover, made using Vallejo plastic putty! ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

As busy lately, bit here's a centurion update I hadn't got round to posting. Progress has been very slow but I've been chipping away the fine details, tool and cable holders etc. These have mostly been done with brass sheets, styrene and a large amount of schumo butterfly nuts. Now most of the holder are there I need to create the tools and tow cables. At times it feels a bit like I'm fiddling at the fringes of this build but I'm hoping the little bits will come.together when the tools are attached. Touch wood my paint from wonderland models will come today. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

You've made a fabulous work at all the details!
What material did you use for the canvas?

Cheers,

Wow Tom, that looks fiddly - you must have good eyesight, magnifying glasses and dexterous fingers!

I'm not sure I have any of those! My eye sites okish I guess ;)!

Fiddly is definitely the word, these ones were too bad and I've learnt from doing the other side but they take much longer than they look like they should
