Centurion mk3

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

The 3D printed gun, does it bend like the plastic ones you get with the tanks.?
Hey,

I'm happy to be corrected but I don't think plastic barrels generally flex, however if there is slop in the elevation and it can move up and down and create an optical illusion like when you wobble a pencil.

Mines plastic with a brass rod down the centre. The elevation uses cogs so less slop than usual and to my eye doesn't bend ;)

Hey folks,

I’ve finally finished the construction part of the build and am starting paint.

I scratch built the tow cable holders I had missed and added welds where needed

For colour I am using xtracrylix deep bronze green , modulated with Tamiya duklgelb. Filter is a mix of burnt umber and lamp black.

Did all the tie down types come from Dean, Tom? I particularly liked the brass clamp ones with butterfly nuts. The Comet needs several of those for the tools on the side of the engine deck.
Overall, some masterly detailing there; but then, that's what we've come to expect   Alwyn has certainly graduated from plasticard master, to printing maestro, in the meantime. :D

Tom that is one fabulous tank    The paint finish and detailing is awesome and I've run out of adjectives  I suspect a looming TOTM entry is in the offing.

All in all a masterful modelling exercise, very well done.

Centurion mk3

Now we’re sucking diesel! Got the decals on last night, thanks to panzerjaeger66 for supplying! Had a little issue with the micro sol reacting with the future but it’s easily fixed. I always think things start to come together when the decals go on, especially on single colour camo schemes.

Next up pin washes.
