ISU-122

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

ISU-122

Post by biertje »

Hey all

Some time ago i came across a ISU-152 project at ebay and i thought it would be a fun build one so i bought it.
I didn't like the welded type hull so I juiced miliput to make it in to a cast hull.
Also the 152mm gun just didn't work for me, so i printed a 122mm gun that i like more.

That's a great-looking build, Tim. Is it based off the kit from Frank-Modellbau, do you know? What did you have installed (or planned) for the electronics?

I've got an SU-152 build on the backburner so I'm quite partial to the big howitzer, but that 122 certainly commands a lot of respect.

Yes it is one of the kits from Frank I believe.
I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do on electronics, I was thinking of elmod but that is more because I don't know what ells to juice.
So i'm open for suggestions.

I also found the BL-10 barrel but that looks a bit like overcompensating :/

I've got an Elmod in my T-34/76, but my SU-152 is being powered by the Open Panzer TCB. It's not as plug-and-play as the Elmod/IBU/Clark series are, but it's very flexible and easily matches or exceeds the Elmod.

Hey all

There are still no electronics inside but there is paint.

The lighting was not ideal but you'll get the idea.
