Thanks guys. Yes, trial and error it is. The Zim is from Atak, you can't go wrong with that. It just looks like it should. At the moment I realize that it is important to figure out how to assemble the upper and lower. The Hobby Boss upper is slightly different in the shape compared to the Taigen part. Progressed a bit on details for the back plate.

Added the Jack mounts and made the Jack almost complete. Testfitting and tarted on the spare Track Hangers for the turret. I will take the Regular Taigen pieces, but try to add the locking hook on top, also the lower mounting piece is now correctly mounted in the higher position on the back side of the link not on the lower front side. As on the regular Taigen tanks.

I recently tried the pe burnishing solution. Seems to be plain copper sulfate solution. The result ist sulfid formation, oxidisation of the grass. The black surface is easily rubbed of. When you are very carefull, you can achieve a steel like finish. I have still to see whether the paint sticks well.

And here the infamous chocolate snakes from outer space strike again. Wonder what they have in their minds this time

The wheels are now basepainted as well. Only the outsides got the final lighter treatment.

I tried a different step approach for painting the wheels this time. Always with thinned paints

1) Primed in dark gray, then Vallejo Hemp.
2) Filter/Wash of MIG Tan Filter with brown wash
3) Vallejo German Camo Beige with 20% of Revell sand, gives a yellowish tinge
4) Vallejo German Camo Beige

Next would be varnish and the real pin-wash/filter followed by maybe a mist of lighter colour again, but I will see that.
