So we begin Wecohe
So I had acquired a Jagdtiger which was previously built and then sold off to a good friend of mine. This is an original Wecohe and obviously can no longer be bought as they are long out of business. I started the rebuild with a beautiful set of ETO's King Tiger transmission units This kit was very expensive and had some really nice bits of engineering in it. One of the things was the fact that the main gun had both elevation and traverse, though this kit was missing the motors for this. It has some other flaws as well which I am slowly working through. One of which is the stock type tamiya idler system which is purely junk. I decided to start with the main gun and make it function. The original kit used a worm gear for the traverse, but mine is going to use a screw drive, the same as the elevation. I made the parts for this on my lathe and mill and got it all together and tested. It works rather nice. I then moved to the tensioner system and instead of buying a kit, decided to attempt to make my own. I made it using a set of old schumo parts which were incorrectly drilled from schumo and meant to be trash, though I threw them in my parts bin long ago. In any case I made them work and then made all of the other parts for it so that the idlers would be spring loaded and also be able to use the set screws in the schumo kit as a back up if needed. It seems to work rather nice. I then made a rear hull support out of aluminum and drilled and screwed it into place. After this was done I made a hold down a the original one from the upper hull was missing. I made this one from brass stock and a screw All in all it was well worth the effort and I am looking forward to getting the super structure angles corrected on it so that I may get to all the detail parts and paint work. I hope you guys like it.
Also, if any of you actually read through this post, I am trying to find out if the taigen tracks will fit the Tamiya sprockets, as I am missing tracks for this beast.

Damn !..........you could have begun this earlier, I could have used some ideas
I know where there is another upper hull kit by Wecohe.............I dont know if I could go through another JT build though !!

Would he part with it? I might be interested if he does not want a fortune

Re: So we begin Wecohe
So last evening I had some time and began making some PE parts for the Jagdtiger. Started with the clamps for tools and then made one of the rear fenders. Wiating on the front fenders to arrive still and also need to buy more stuff from ETO and rctank.de. But...it is a start.

Nice. Those clamps seem a bit larger than the ones I have. Where did you get them from?
