Michael's Assault Tiger

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Michael's Assault Tiger

Post by dgsselkirk »

Hi Guys,

Finally got to finish Michael's tank this long weekend! Yea! Painted it up after a long, hard, wet, winter in 44-45... :-)

This tank is one heavy mother, all metal. Michael also has the Jadgtiger barrel assembly so he can switch back and forth. I painted it up but wasn't about to play with switching it out. I just hung the tracks so you may notice the gap. I am letting Michael play with that! LOL!

I should point out that I used the original factory paint job to some degree. Note to self, do not use alcohol to clean taigen paint jobs. It stripped it too much! LOL! I had to do some interesting toning to get it back where I could work with it...

Ha! No Civics! LOL!

Someone stole the crane... when it gets converted to Jadgtiger paper panzer don't need the crane I suppose. I make no claim to construction. All I did was partial paint and all the weathering...

I was away camping on the long weekend so just saw the post. As always thanks to dgsselkirk for another awesome paint job. I am flatter though as the paint job is not original Taigen but my own (I thought I mentioned it to you before handing you the beast). I have to say it might be one of my best paint job which is not saying much.

Kiaser, upper is actually not Taigen, but an Asiatam paper panzer (Strum JadgTiger). That's why you see the roof hatches are a little different, and there is a Panther/Late Tiger compmander's cupola with MG, as well as the missing crane. The paper panzer is suppose to be a 88mm L/51 on the Strum Tiger super structure. The Asiatam upper is all metal and does not come with a paint job. I mated the upper to a Taigen Late Tiger one metal lower. So now it has the look to go with the excellent Taigen Tiger I lower !
