Tiger build (mid or late depending on how lazy I'm feeling!)

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Thank you for the kind words Herman, what you say is very true! Now with this build I had originally intended just to use the Merit top, graft together and paint. However as I progressed it didnt seem right to do a substandard job detail wise. So this time I've endeavoured to make the photo etch bits a bit stronger, which is why a lot is bolted to the hull rather than just glue on. Hopefully painting should start soon, just finishing up the M51 and ordering paints.

A small but significant update, I've finished building the wooden handles for the tool and built up the barrel cleaning rods. However more importantly it means I've finally finished the build phase! On with the painting.

Some quick shots of everything together before I start painting. I've also added the rear turret lifting point and blended the zim into the hull.

Tom,
Great work per usual. A tank that is highly detailed yet completely run-worthy. ;o)

Today I got on with painting proper. Usual procedure for camo, red oxide, chipping fluid, duklegelb, high light, chip, more chipping fluid then camo then chip some more.

Waaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!! This tiger is amazing. Your job is excellent and so detailed.

The tools are very impressive with fine details.

The Atak kit for zimmerit is very beautiful.

Once completed, this tank will be a masterpiece!!!!
Sorry for my spelling mistakes, I try to do better every day...

Hey Fred, thanks for the kind words! I've been adding markings this morning. The stencils are amazing, no overspray, even on the zimmerite areas. The finish lacks depth and looks quite flat, but I've held of with filters and washes till now so I can encompass the markings.
