1942 Capture KV-2 754(r)

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Good evening,
Both issues with the Palace' sound corrected. Speaking with Maxmekker produced the idea to swap the yellow and black wires on the volume pot for the Taigen MFU port. Full sweep of sound working low to high volume now. That new speaker is amazing! ;o) The intermittent failure of sounds altogether turned out to be undersized pins in the speaker plug in port. A couple of cut to size plastic stops keep the pins in constant contact with the plug now. Tested by firing the main gun ( which is jarring to say the least ) and all is well! Here is a pic of the wiring inside the lower of the Palace as well as a short video test from YouTube. ( I also found a wire on the 8 pin plug from upper to lower where the rubber sheathing was stripped off. I didn't do it so it came from the factory that way. Some liquid rubber resolved that potential nastiness.

P.S. Don't mind the smoke coming out on the smoker inside the upper. It is just a loose rubber plug on the smoker filler spout. All Soviet armor of the period seems to smoke from every available joint at any rate. ;o)

Good morning!
Thank you, Gentlemen! I am just very pleased that the 'Crackerbox Palace' is clanking along with no issues. ( That intermittent sound thing goes back to the original unboxing of the KV-1 that the old Lower \ Electronics were sourced from. )
regards,
Painless
