Re: Crazy Joe's Sherman Rehabilitation
I was just reading this again and something occurred to me............
Ole Joe, he’s a bit of a rat-bag eh!’
Blaming the Sherman for him needing “rehabilitation “
A man with a stare like that got nowhere to hide
He’s got to accept he’s a loony and stop blaming the tank for any interventions!!

Re: Crazy Joe's Sherman Rehabilitation
Good afternoon Herman!
Ol' Joe is crazy like a Fox. He eventually got one of the best weapons that the U.S. Army was fielding at the time, the M36B1. A 90mm gunned new turret style on the latest M4A3 large hatch Sherman. It took him a while but he got to where the General always saw him at. *chuckles* Now he is a travelin' Boozery and Boudoir'. ;o)

Clearly Joe's legendary look, gaze and mysterious blend of over the top red lipstick and enormous eyes can garner the man just about anything he wants... Tanks, women, choice of liquor....
We all want to be him...
Or at least get to know him

Re: Crazy Joe's Sherman Rehabilitation
Good morning, Gentlemen!
All of my Shermans ( and any future members of the platoon ) are all rehabilitated on my kitchen counter ( sometimes with free parts but usually a bit more onerous ). I am very fond of MATOs original M4A1 and that is why I keep tinkering with it. 'In The Mood' ( all three of them ) have a place in American History ( back when America was busy helping save the World ).
regards,
Painless

Re: Crazy Joe's Sherman Rehabilitation
Morning, Painless!
There's something about Crazy Joe's hypnotic even fixated left eye, that has always reminded me of a moment in a movie, without me actually recalling which flic. It's one of those perpetual 'tip-of-the-tongue' experiences.Today, I finally recalled the film in question: 'Top Secret' (1984, now rated a cult comedy, from the team that made 'Airplane') and when he removes the magnifying glass: He would make a great seasoned gunner, who's spent too much time peeking down the sighting periscope.
Good to see that the 'Crazy Joe' trope lives on, and has almost slipped into legend!

Roy!
Welcome back! Yes, Crazy Joe soldiers on in the best traditions inspired by every GI amazed, inspired and transformed by going to and fighting to free Europe in WWII. You can't keep em' down on the farm once they've seen Paree' 'In The Mood' soldiers on as well. I just picked up a couple more replacement airguns to try as well as a new volume pot and much better speaker ala Maxmekker. ;o)
