The RX 18 ???

Post by Herr Fritz »

Are there any noticeable differences or advantages of the RX-18 vs the 14 board?

Thanks.

You're less likley to blow a RX-18 (unless you're trying really hard) and I think the sound is better on the later ones.

I replaced an old board (RX13 i think) with RX18 and the find the tank more controlable than before so for me was a worth while change.

One thing to bear in mind if your going to upgrade is you'll also require the wiring loom (as the RX18 uses plug inconnectors) and the reciever board is seperate so again you'll need that, plus a transmitter.

Hope that helps.

Or skip the rx18 and go elmod boards. Expensive but what a difference.

Yeah I thought £100+ was expensive then realised also needed a sound module as well. :O

Thanks guys :)

Just to be clear on this.....I have the 14 board.....so I the HL factory receiver board will not work with the RX-18?

I take it that the plug in's are not some that can me custom cut or made from Radio Shack or a well stocked electronics supply?

I stopped by Radio Smack earlier today. I have oodles of colored wire at home already and I can buy the pins that would fit the 18 board if I get one with out the cables. One way or the other there is always more than one way to skin the Allies! Wahahahaha!!!!
