Upgraded to a dual battery setup

http://www.wowurl.net/tank/080926_224859.jpg made 2 of them

Gona leave the battery box area in because currently the batteries are wedged firmly into the space between it and sides of tank.

Yay metal tracks/sprocket

http://www.wowurl.net/tank/081006_192604.jpg
http://www.wowurl.net/tank/081006_192621.jpg
http://www.wowurl.net/tank/081006_192637.jpg

The "sag" it has is by default from what came in the box didnt add or remove any links.

each track weigh's 600grams and the sprockets about 100.

you cannot run them easily on the plastic gears because the clutch/slipper will kick in too easy (on carpet).

Got tracks+sprockets and metal gears from Howesmodels.co.uk for £47 (incl postage). on ebay it'dve cost like £75 because the tracks go for £50 themself then the gears are like £25

Added the metal gearboxes.

the tank seems a bit more sluggish now (which is good) and has a more "real" clank clank squeek sound

http://www.wowurl.net/tank/081010_201306.jpg

Used 2 cut down train tickets to stop the oil splattering over the circuit board. am going to a model shop tommorow so will get some plasticard to make a proper cover for it.

painted the box on the rear of the tank

http://www.wowurl.net/tank/081010_201716.jpg

the pic makes it look quite scruffy but to the eye its fine but i'll prolly retouch it making pics look perfect :P
