Well, after a Russian marathon having altered a T34/76, finished off an SU-85, and forced an almost all metal JS-2 into a weary wreck from a mint $1000 runner, its time to return to the 3-colour of German Armour.

This time, a small size but big reputation!
I have a StuG III with very old RX14 controls, brand new and having found a really neat picture of a machine with odd-ball schurzen and an odd-ball M.G. shield, that was it !!............lets do it.
Panzer Wrecks 2, pages 22 and 23.
I get to do :

Zimmerit
Custom schurzen that makes the thing look like a JagdPz IV
3- layered loaders M.G. shield
Side opening hatches
Cupola armour
Saukopf Mantlet (god knows where I can get one of these :/ )
Oddly positioned spare road wheels
Roof mounted grenade launcher
Full baffle muzzle brake

And Im sure a few bits that are not visible in the pictures that I can decide might have been there !
Intend to run H/L 6.1s for servo control .

Will try to get a picture up of the subject, but as its in a book, the quality wont be real good, so I will do it when I can.

Thanks mate, I found one after a lot of searching.
Apparently they are called a “suction head cover” :wtf:

Some low end pics to kick the project off:

That image certainly looks like it was taken after the war ended.
I think those oddly placed spare road wheels were placed on the front guards after it was knocked out.

Yes it was after.
10 May '45 according to the book was when it was photographed.
It still would have looked like this the day before it was knocked out.
But the other pictures of the units machines show the spare wheel positions to be a unit thing !
Along with the curiously labour intensive schurzen armour alteration to close in the front edges to the hull.
It wasn't a one-vehicle feature so it seems.

Other pics of the units StuG's............seems they also had the market cornered on used T34 track armour !!!
