My Stug III build

Post by SEAN66 »

Hello,
well the Stug arrived last night.( thanks once again Biertje).
this is my first build so I will be asking lots of questions and interrogating the hive mind.
I will take some photos later tonight and post them up.
but there are a few photos on Biertjes post in the for sale section.
I will spend tonight looking at the actual model I received and deciding.
1. what I want to Build I.E. Stug or Pzr III
2. what model Stug and what time frame.

my initial thoughts were to do both a Stug III and Pzr III tops to interchange onto the Pzr III chassis.
regards
Sean

You write as though this will be your only Tank :haha: :haha: :haha:
Many years ago I thought of building a pair of PZ4 bodies to interchange with a single hull,
I now have apart from nearly a dozen completed ? PZ4s of different variants three spare PZ4 Turrets, two bodies and a hull,
If you have two bodies then get another hull and make two tanks you know it makes sense.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Hi Jarndice
no its not I bought a Heng Long Challenger II, just before Christmas.
I bought the Stug to learn on instead of the chally.
rather make the mistakes on a chassis that didn't cost the earth.
I'm also a contractor ( I work for the American Army in Bavaria ) so I don't want to be lugging too many tanks around with me.

Very much looking forward with your Panzer III/Stug build, there are not many projects still left to view so it will be a real pleasure to see one progress. It’s high time I purchased one as I think it’s a classic when it comes to German armour. Good luck with your build.

Very much looking forward to this build... Because I never completed it.

Litterally.

I sold it to Biertje hahaha!

So you better make this nice and mean-looking and Panzergrau en really cool! :D
1:16 was my scale. Until 'Konan' came into my life... an Armortek 1:6 Tiger 1!
... Now followed by a Panther G, 'Gunther'!

I'm a happy man. 8)

Marco Peter lol
I got it from Biertje so it's your old one.
I receive it yesterday and have taken the motors off already.
Due to the motors sit too high they push the front glacial plate too high.
I'll put some photos up later once I work out who to host.

Sean66, Good Morning,
This build thread of the Resin Upper \ Taigen Lower Hull that I did of an early StuG III Ausf B may be useful to you in regards of which motors and gearboxes to use. The lower profiled ones will let the upper sit correctly on the lower.
regards,
Painless
